15th anniversary of the Marine Lair
How did the adventure begin?
The adventure began from the desire to take a gamble, to be close to loved ones, for the desire to open a gastronomic workshop of our own by reuniting the family that, at the time, was working dislocated in different locations in Sicily. The time had come to set out on a new horizon with the idea of expressing a type of catering that represented us.
Why Aci Trezza?
The desire to choose Aci Trezza is related to our grandparents' 50th wedding anniversary celebration. The father of the boys who ran the Covo Marino met with Nello Pennisi to propose that the Pennisi family take over the management of the restaurant.

Catering idea
We had our vision in mind, born from previous experiences, local and international, starting from the service approach, to the accuracy of details and customer care. We first launched fish pairings with seasonal fruits and vegetables, dishes presented in a contemporary way. We did the same to propose innovative first and second courses. Another first was having a pastry chef on staff.
The wine list
It has always been the flagship of our restaurant, an extensive after-meal wine and liquor list from regional, national and international sources.
Who likes the Marine Lair?
It appeals to those who love fish and want creativity and innovation, all accompanied by an excellent selection of wines. From the very beginning, many competitors came to eat with us, the Covo was chosen by the players of Catania soccer and many VIPs, also related to the friendship of past acquaintances.

Always focusing on a young and interactive staff has been a winning move, something that fills us with pride today, betting on new recruits who give us confidence.
The future sees a business even more committed to a scrupulous and careful selection of raw material, a business in step with the times that wants to stay ahead by suggesting new trends and putting forth all our usual drive.
